X's ex-product head Nikita Bier has offered a peek at his own portfolio, and Bitcoin (BTC) sits at the top of it.
Asked what he holds, Bier's first answer was Bitcoin, followed by gold, commodities, and natural resources.
The disclosure came as Bier pushed back on a user who credited a crypto "bull market" to him no longer suppressing Crypto Twitter accounts.
Bier rejected the claim outright, and used the moment to point to Washington, not X, as the real driver.
Bier also revealed that X is preparing to add trade buttons, letting users buy and sell tokens directly from their timelines.
He credited himself with building the platform's first crypto features, including Cashtags, which let users embed Solana and Ethereum charts, and paste contract addresses for newly minted tokens, into their posts.
Bier stepped back from his product role this month and stayed on as an adviser, handing the rollout to his successor.
Why he says the rally is happening
Bier tied the current surge to fiscal policy rather than social media. He pointed to the U.S. Treasury's move to buy back government bonds, which he argued is debasing the dollar.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at least doubled planned purchases of long-dated government debt on Aug. 19, a roughly $950 billion buyback plan that has since drawn criticism over how Washington intends to fund it.
The markets have moved sharply. Bitcoin traded near $80,643, up 4.25% on the day and about 24.5% over the past month. Gold, meanwhile, rose roughly 15% in August to around $4,651 an ounce, putting it on track for its best monthly performance since September 1999.
