Coinbase Global said Tuesday that it is launching a slew of products, including perpetual futures contracts linked to equity indexes, in a bid to become a one-stop exchange for Americans’ trading needs.
The largest U.S. crypto exchange said it is launching perpetual futures tied to indexes tracking four themes: artificial intelligence, China, defense and the top 100 Nasdaq-listed companies. These contracts will be available to U.S. traders, who can use as much as 20 times of leverage on them.
Perpetual futures are a type of popular crypto derivative that never expires and trades 24/7. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission recently approved the listing of perpetual futures at registered U.S. platforms.
