Fresh Layoffs: Posting to X earlier today, Kris Marszalek (the founder/CEO of crypto exchange Crypto.com and AI domain name registry service ai.com) confirmed that his crypto exchange has laid off 12% of its workforce.
Stark New Reality: According to Marsalek's post, Crypto.com is, "joining the list of companies integrating enterprise-wide AI." Marsalek proclaims companies that fail to make a similar pivot "immediately" are doomed to fail, and indicates that AI assistance allows top performers to reach previously unfounded levels of productivity. According to Marsalek, team members that were let go held, "roles that do not adapt in our new world."
